Our Story
In Memory of Dan Barker
This ministry exists to honor his legacy and carry forward the work he gave his life to.
Sharing the Good News was not just for preachers. It was a joyful calling for every single person who follows Jesus.
Dan Barker
Dan Barker came to faith at 21 years old in Owensboro, Kentucky, lovingly guided to Christ by his wife, Gay. That moment was the spark that ignited a lifelong fire for evangelism. He believed deeply that the Gospel was meant to be shared not just from pulpits, but across kitchen tables, on front porches, and in the ordinary moments of everyday life.
Over decades of ministry, Dan developed The Way Bible Study, an 18-lesson curriculum that walked seekers through the Gospel step by step. With it, he personally baptized hundreds of souls. He never saw himself as the authority. He was always a fellow laborer, yellow pad in hand, eager to learn from the people around him who were actually out there doing it.
His podcast, Leading Others to Christ, was built on the same conviction: interview the everyday Christians who were leading people to Jesus, gather their wisdom, and put it in the hands of every believer. 71 episodes. Evangelists, elders, prison ministers, mothers, deacons, people from every walk of life united by one calling.
Dan passed away unexpectedly in January 2024. This ministry, the platform, the tools, the community, exists to honor his legacy and ensure that the work he gave his life to continues leading others to Christ.
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
